Republican representative Tim Burchett still wants Epstein files to be released

The Republican representative of Tennessee, Tim Burchett, again requested the release of the evidence of the Department of Justice against the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, part of a growing picture of Republicans who ask for transparency in the case.

Speaking with the co-presenter of “This Week” Martha Raddatz, Burchett said that the Epstein archives would be launched, but warned against releasing material that could expose the identities of the victims and others in the files that can be innocent.

But Burchett rejected criticism level by President Donald Trump, who at the beginning of this week called the Republicans demanding the release of the “dumb” documents and said that Epstein’s archives were a hoax invented by the Democrats.

“Was he a little marked, said that? Of course, it was, but I’m a big boy, ma’am,” Burchett said. “We are playing in the big leagues at this time.”

Since then, Trump has ordered the attorney general Pam Bondi to move to the evidence of the grand jury in the case of Epstein, which Burchett called “a beginning.”

“I don’t think we’re going to get to the bottom of … Everything, lady,” Burchett said. “You know, this city does not give up its very easy secrets.”

Asked by Raddatz if she believed that Bondi should resign, Burchett said she criticized her communication on the subject, but was not about to ask her to resign.

“I have a saying: this is not how you start, this is how you end. If she ends up strong in this, then I am in favor,” said Burchett. “I am sure that the learning curve is steep, and I think she made an error at the beginning, I really do it, as most Americans do.
