Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, according to a statement from his office posted on Sunday afternoon.
“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen by a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing the increase in urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (group 5) with metastasis to bone,” said the statement.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, cancer seems to be sensitive to hormones, allowing effective management. The president and his family are reviewing the treatment options with their doctors,” the statement concluded.
On Tuesday, a Biden spokesman confirmed to ABC News that a small nodule was found in the former president’s prostate after “a physical examination of routine.”

The discovery of the nodule “required an additional evaluation,” said the spokesman.
In February 2023, while working as president, Biden took away an injury to his cancerous chest. Before entering the office, Biden had several non -melanoma leather cancers retired with Mohs surgery.
“As expected, the biopsy confirmed that the small injury was basal cell carcinoma,” said White House doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, at that time. “All cancerous fabric was successfully eliminated … no more treatment is required.”
Biden’s health had been under scrutiny since before leaving the presidential race in 2024, giving way to the then vice president Kamala Harris to overcome the Democratic presidential ticket.
In an appearance in “The View” by ABC earlier this month, both Biden and former First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, generally backed up against the list of new reporters’ books that claim that Biden was dealing with cognitive deterioration at the end of their presidency.
“They are wrong. There is nothing to hold that,” said Biden.
