A few days after an armed man shot and kill the conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at a University of Utah, his wife, Erika, will deliver his first public comments on Friday night.
Its direction will be broadcast live at 8:15 pm et on Turning Point USA Social Network platforms, founded the Kirk organization.
Charlie Kirk was Erika’s husband and the father of two young children at the time of his death on Wednesday, a 1 year old son and a 3 -year -old daughter.
The founder of the organization of conservative youth activists was shot while talking at the University of Utah Valley, the first stop this fall for “The American Comeback Tour” of Turning Point USA, which was traveling to multiple university campuses throughout the country.
In what has been described as a “political murder,” Kirk was beaten by a single shot while talking at the event on Wednesday. He was urgently taken to a hospital in the area, where he was declared dead.

President Donald Trump announced Kirk’s death on social networks, writing: “The great and even legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead.”
“No one understood or had the heart of young people in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by all, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us,” the president wrote. “Melania and my sympathies are with their beautiful wife Erika and her family. Charlie, we love you!”
When Utah Spencer Cox’s governor announced at a press conference on Friday the arrest of a suspect in the shooting, he talked about Charlie Kirk’s family.
“I especially want to thank the family of Charlie Kirk, Erika, Charlie’s parents, her children,” Cox said. “I want us to be thinking about them while we bring justice in this case. They will be involved in that justice. We will work very closely with them as we move through this process too.”
Erika Kirk is a former basketball player of Miss Arizona and University who is currently studying for a doctorate in biblical studies at the University of Liberty, according to a biography on her website.
She is the founder to proclaim, a faith -based clothing line, the podcast host “Midweek Rise Up” and the founder of two non -profit organizations, according to their website.
Erika Kirk has also been a frequent presence on her husband’s side to speak public commitments and appearances.
